OUR STORY

My name is Ilona Kiss and I am the Kiss in “A Kiss for Children e.V.”

I founded this "A Kiss for Children" during my work as an International Lawyer in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I actually learned to speak Vietnamese and got access to the local people. In 2006 - while working on an adoption dossier for a client - I visited many orphanages in and around Ho Chi Minh City. What I saw there could not leave me untouched and I decided that I had to speak up for those who could not speak for themselves. It became clear to me, that I really could make a difference for these children. 

Together with Thu Bich Duong we decided to make some good news ourselves and founded “A Kiss for Children”.  Since then, we have raised more than 300.000 USD and successfully managed many projects that we report about on this website. More and more people joined our cause like my then husband-to-be Jörg Bodenschatz and Markus Bussmann. I have been living in Switzerland since 2010, changed my name after my marriage to Ilona Bodenschatz-Kiss, have three wonderful children myself and want to make even bigger news of my own in the future.
