Xmas 2020 is here...It has been a very different year, also for us #newsmakers but especially for our children in Vietnam...
A little throwback: Last years Xmas donation for the 150 children @ Lai Thieu Educational Center in Ho Chi Minh City - the place where me made our very first big donation back in 2007- was a big succes. This years donation to the same place will only reach 70 children. Due to Covid 19 many children have not come back to the shelter after the summer quarantine. Their parents are in difficulties, so they have to leave school to help their family or stay at home to get married. Surviving is more important than going to school. The Sisters @ Lai Thieu were also forced to limit the admission of new children due to Covid.
The impact on global education is huge🥺
Therefore this year @akissforchildren we will be making not 1 but 2 big #Xmas donations
Again we will be supporting the Lai Thieu Shelter in Ho Chi Minh City and we will also donate to the 150 children of the Thien An Kindergarten located in Dak Som, Dak Nong province, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. The money we are donating will be used for food, milk, toys, gloves, socks, shoes...
Besides the pics, this year we also have a little special insight into the Xmas letters of our children. We have published for you the letters of the children and our answers below - in French - and for those who don´t speak French, please scroll down for English.

Chère Mama Noël,
Je m'appelle Hoang Thi Thao Ly. J'ai 17 ans cette année et je suis en 12e. À la fin de cette année scolaire, je passerai un examen qui est extrêmement important dans ma vie. C'est l'examen national de fin d'études secondaires. J'espère que vous prierez pour que j'obtienne de bons résultats.
Mama Noel! Une autre saison de Noël arrive, on s'amuse à nouveau, qu'en est-il de Toi? Comment vas-tu, Mama? Je t' apprécie beaucoup car à chaque saison de Noël nous recevons tes cadeaux, tes soins et l'attention de tous. Chaque fois que Noel vient, les enfants attendent toujours avec impatience que Papa Noel vienne en chaussettes suspendues et nous apporte des cadeaux. Et moi aussi, chaque année j'ai des souhaits différents; et cette année, je recevrai de nouveaux vêtements, je fête Noël et la Nouvelle année la plus heureuse . Je te demande de prier pour moi et ma famille d'avoir toujours beaucoup de santé et de courage pour surmonter les difficultés de la vie. Cette saison de Noël, Tu devras avoir du mal à voyager dans de nombreuses régions du monde pour apporter des cadeaux et de la joie à tout le monde, en particulier aux plus petits.
Mama Noel, à la fin de la lettre, je te souhaite beaucoup de santé pour aller travailler avec tout ce que tu veux. Je te souhaite également très heureuse quand tu apportes joie et bonheur à tout le monde. Et la nouvelle année approche, je te souhaite une nouvelle

Ici tout va bien. Avec le Covid la vie a certainement changé mais pour le moment les écoles sont ouvertes et mes 3 enfants (Ella 11 ans, Filippo 9 ans et Romy 7 ans) sont contents de pouvoir aller àl´école.
Nous aussi nous te souhaitons ainsi qu’à ta famille e a tous les enfants et les Sœurs du Foyer une année pleine de santé, de bonheur et de joie.
